    Dodds S. Miller
    Dodds S. Miller, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015.

    He was born May 16, 1927 in Miller, Kansas, the son of Peter and Winnie (Nurnberg) Miller. He was a graduate of Admire High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

    Dodds was an automobile mechanic in Topeka and enjoyed restoring antique engines and tractors.

    He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

    Dodds married Arvis A. Olsen on September 21, 1947 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Linda (Ron) Graybeal, Lenexa, KS, Randall W. Miller, Topeka and Arnold (Esther) Miller, Rossville; four grandchildren, Kyndra (Scott) Morris, Avery Miller, Hannah Miller and Jared Renyer; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Morris, Katelynn Morris, Emily Morris, Drake Graybeal and Dylan Graybeal; and two sisters, Mean Smith, Wichita and Ruth (Larry) McMurtray, Farmville, VA.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jeffrey Graybeal; a granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Miller; four brothers, Franklin, Dale, Leslie and Eugene Miller; and five sisters, Melissa Dickson, Virginia Jordan, Sadie Miller, Elva Crim and Alivena Patterson.

    A funeral ceremony will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy. Dodds will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
