    Jackie “Jack” D. Aubert
Jackie "Jack” D. Aubert, 66, of Topeka passed away October 9, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Since 1993 radiation cleared up his cancer 4 times, but by the 5th time Jack was too weak for radiation or surgery. His heavenly father saw Jack was ready to go home. Jack was born May 28, 1945 in Silver Lake, Kansas, the son of Lloyd J. Sr. and Gail E. (Johnson) Aubert. Jack graduated from Paxico High School in 1963. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2005 after almost 40 years; 16 of those years he served a local chairman of his union for the state of Kansas. After working for the railroad he drove a van for Renzenberger Inc. from June 2005 to January 2011.
Jack was a member of Grace Community Church. His hobbies included league bowling at Gage North and Sunflower Lanes and participated in many tournaments throughout the state of Kansas. Jack was a CB operator in the 1970’s and went by the handle of Jack Rabbit. He was also a manager, assistant coach, and head coach of many youth baseball and basketball teams.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joe Aubert, and son James (Jimmy) Dale Aubert. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Marcia L. Aubert, whom he married November 7, 1969 in Anoka, MN, daughters; Bobbe Ralston, Donna Alfrey (Ron), Robin Blevins (David), Rexie Schmuck (Dennis) foster son William D. Hodges, all of Topeka, brothers; Jim Aubert (Delila) of Desoto, KS, Jerry Aubert (Tania) of Topeka, John Aubert (Sandi) of Derby, KS, sister Mary J. Page (Jim) of Spring Hill, KS, sister-in-law-Barb Aubert of Topeka, KS. He will also be dearly missed by his grandsons; Jeremy, Danny, Bradley, and Joseph all of Topeka, and granddaughters; Heather of Utah, Amber and Sarah of Topeka, and Samantha of Oklahoma City, OK, 8 great-grandsons, 4 great-granddaughters and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Aubert’s wishes were to be cremated. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to everyone at Midland Hospice, the many doctors and nurses that helped the family in the past 18 years, and those who had a part in helping Jack since May of this year. A memorial service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home Saturday October 29th at 10:00 A.M. where family and friends will be greeted after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Community Church in care of Davidson Funeral Home who is assisting the family. To leave a message for Jack’s family, please visit www.davidsonfuneral.com
