Mrs. Pauline V. Hurla, 70, Holton, died Monday, August 31, 1987, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Hurla lived 33 years in Seneca where she owned and operated the Northside Cafe and worked at the Nemaha County Rest Home, Log Cabin Cafe, West Side Cafe and Sunset Cafe.
She was born May 23, 1917, at Delia, the daughter of Earl and Etta Scheidegger Argo. She lived in Holton since 1980.
Mrs. Hurla was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Holton.
She was married to Louis S. Hurla June 6, 1935, at Kansas City, Ks. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Brinker, Topeka; five sons, Louis E. Hurla, St. Charles, Mo., Robert Hurla, Leavenworth, Steven Hurla, House Springs, Mo., Gerald Hurla, Fulton, Mo., and David Hurla, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Brock, Mrs. Marzine Little and Mrs. Adelene Cunningham, all of Holton; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Holton. Burial was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Holton. A rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin Brinker, Brian Brinker, Glenn Hurla, Kent Hurla, Kyle Hurla, and Dennis Boltz. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, was in charge of arrangements.
