Robert Broxterman and Ann Koelzer were married March 4, 1957, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning. They operated a farm near Baileyville until 1968, when they purchased a farm north of Rossville, which they continue to operate, in 1996 Bob retired from Rossville Truck and Tractor. Ann is self-employed and provides domestic services. Their children are Joyce Rakestraw and fiance Augie Meier; Jeanette and Paul Bouzianis and Jim and Monica Broxterman, all of Topeka; William and Janice Taylor, Connie and Daniel Fischer, David and Francis Broxterman, Chris Broxterman and his fiancee Amanda Watts, all of Silver Lake; Bradley and Chenelle Broxterman, Rossville; Andrew and Carina Broxterman, Manhattan; and Brand and Nancy Pletcher, Keene. Their son, Daniel Broxterman, is deceased. The couple have 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

  Obituary- Broxterman, Robert Robert L Broxterman Robert (Bob) L. Broxterman, 85 passed away peacefully on May 27,2018 at the St Mary’s Manor. He was born August 8,1932 to Andrew and Lena Buessing Broxterman at the farm in Seneca, Kansas. He grew up in the rural Baileyville area going to Baileyville Grade School through the 8th grade and received his GED in 1987. He served in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob’s passion was farming and he farmed and ranched in the Baileyville and Rossville KS area all his adult life. He also worked for Allis-Chalmers and Rossville Truck &Tractor. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. He was a charter member of the St. Stanislaus Knights of Columbus, serving as the chapters first Grand Knight. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel Broxterman; two brothers, Leonard (Bud) Broxterman and Tom Broxterman; one sister, Sally Scott, one grandchild, Belinda Meier and a daughter-in-law, Chanelle Broxterman. He was married to Ann Elizabeth Koelzer on March 4,1957. She survives. Other survivors include ten children; Joyce Rakestraw-Meier (Augie) Topeka; Jeanette Bouzianis (Paul) Topeka; Janice Taylor (Bill) Silver Lake; Andrew Broxterman (Carina) Man¬hattan; Nancy Pletcher (Brand) Eskridge; James Broxterman (Monica) Topeka; Connie Fischer (Daniel) Silver Lake; David Broxterman Silver Lake; Bradley Broxterman (Missy) Delia; Christopher Broxterman (Amanda) Rossville. Nine siblings including five brothers; Charles Broxterman, Frankfort; Ralph Broxterman, Vermillion; Bill Broxterman, Vermillion; Richard Broxterman, Sabetha; and Pat Broxterman, Baileyville. Four sisters; Elsie Becker, Topeka; Kay Mitchell, Frankfort; Sister Anna Marie Broxterman, Concordia; and Mary Holthaus, Centralia. Thirty-one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 30,2018 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Broxterman will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 29,2018 at the church where there will be a rosary recited at 6:30. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Stanislaus Building Fund in Bob’s memory and sent to Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
