    Dr. Robert L. Browne

    Dr. Robert L. Browne, a retired public-school educator and administrator who resided in Sun City West, Arizona, died April 7, 2020.

    He was born in May 1932. He grew up in St. Marys, Kansas, but he lived most of his adult life in Arizona. His parents were John and Gertrude (Rezac) Browne. A Down-Syndrome younger brother, Lawrence, died in 1944. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Gloria H. Barnett, a native of Prescott, Arizona, in 1964. She survives him. He was the author of Tune of the Hickory Stick, a novel.

    It was Robert's wish that no services be held, nor any memorials requested. Relatives and friends are asked to say a brief prayer or have a kind thought.

    • Note from Judy Lundin: His wife taught at Rossville Grade at one time. He had two aunts and an uncle that lived west of Delia. They were Josephine, Frances, and Mike Browne.
