| Anniversary- Horak, Bennie and Sara Golden Wedding Celebration For Horak Couple
Bennie and Sara Horak, Delia, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 5, 1995. They were married on August 5, 1945, in Alma.
Mr. Horak retired from Goodyear and Mrs. Horak recently retired as a school bus driver in the USD 321 School District.
The couple has a son, Don Horak, St Marys; and a daughter, Peggy Jean Workman, Osage City. They have four grandchildren and two great- granddaughters.
A reception will be hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossville American Legion Post #31 for friends and relatives of the couple. A dance will follow the reception.
The couple requests no gifts.

Clark-Horak
Janice Nadine Clark made the gown she wore for her wedding to Donald Dean Horak. Of white organza and satin, the gown had a lace bodice, high neckline and long sleeves. A detachable train of scalloped lace and satin was fastened at the waistline with a large bow. A white bow held her lace mantilla, and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums.
St. Isidore’s Catholic Chapel, Manhattan, was the setting for the Oct. 4 ceremony. The Rev. Carl Kramer officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Clark, Manhattan, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Horak, Delia.
Carol Clark, Manhattan, was her sister’s maid of honor and bridesmaids were the bridegroom’s sister, Peggy Horak, Delia, and Mary Wertzberger, Alma. Tina Stum, Rossville, was flower girl and David Dodge, Rossville served as ring bearer.
Gilbert Carroll, Covington, Ohio, was best man and groomsmen were Marvin Clark, Manhattan, brother of the bride, and Carl Farley, Rossville. Ushers were the bride’s brother, Gary Clark, O’Fallon, Ill., and Jim Dodge, Rossville.
A reception in the Catholic Student Center followed the ceremony and a dance that evening was in the Knights of Columbus Hall, Newbury.
Mrs. Horak is a graduate of Paxico High School and attended Kansas State University. Mr. Horak, a graduate of Delia High School, served in the U.S. Air, Force and is employed in the Santa Fe offices.
The couple is living in Rossville.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Clark, Manhattan, announce the engagement of their daughter, Janice, to Mr. Donald Horak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Horak, Delia.
The bride-elect is a 1968 graduate of Paxico High School and attended Kansas State University.
Mr. Horak was graduated from Delia High School, served in the United States Air Force, and is employed at the Santa Fe offices in Topeka.
An October wedding is planned. |
| Marriage- Clark, Janice-Horak, Donald 2 Vows are exchanged Oct 4. in Manhattan
Janice Clark carried a cascade of large white mums and pompoms at her wedding to Mr. Donald D. Horak. The Rev. Carl Kramer officiated at the one o’clock ceremony, the afternoon of Oct. 4 in St. Isidore’s Catholic Chapel, Manhattan.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Clark, Manhattan, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Horak of Delia.
The bride made her floor-length empire gown which featured a detachable lace covered satin train held in place by a large satin bow. The A-line skirt of organza over satin was decorated with rose appliques. Lace and sequins accented the bodice, high collar, and scalloped sleeves. A bow with late roses and sequins held the lace veil.
Miss Carol Clark, Manhattan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Horak, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Mary Wertzberger, Alma. Tina Stum was flower girl, and David Dodge served as ring bearer. Both are of Rossville.
Gilbert Carroll, Covington, Ohio, served as best man, and the groomsmen were Marvin Clark, Manhattan, and Carl Farley, Rossville. Ushers were Gary Clark of O’Fallon, Ill., and Jim Dodge, Rossville.
A reception in the Student Center adjoining the Chapel, immediately followed the ceremony. The bride’s parents entertained with a lunch at their home after the reception. A wedding dance was held later that evening at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Newbury.
Mrs. Horak is a graduate of Paxico High School and attended Kansas State University. She was formerly employed by Mr. Steak’s Restaurant in Manhattan.
Mr. Horak was graduated from Delia High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and is employed by the Santa Fe offices in Topeka.
After a short wedding trip to the Ozarks in Missouri, the couple is at home in Rossville.
Wedding rehearsal dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Horak honored their son, Don, and his fiancee, Janice Clark with a dinner in Manhattan Friday evening, Oct. 3, following the couple’s wedding rehearsal. Those present were:

Mr. Carroll of Ohio was a guest several days in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Horak.
