Barbara Ann Jacobsen, Fairmont, Nebr., and Anthony Edward Eakin, Rossville, were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m., at the Fairmont Community Church. Rev. William Moore officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jacobsen, Fairmont, Nebr., and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eakin, Delia.
Music was provided by organist Delores Swartz, soloist G. Paul Machal, and a brass quartet consisting of Godfrey Machal, Paul M. Machal, Arch Hill, and Erin McMahon.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory-colored gown of sheer-ganza over a bridal taffeta lining. Her fitted bodice had a Queen Anne neckline trimmed with silk Venice lace. Her sheer bishop sleeves were cuffed and trimmed with matching lace. Vertical lace trim accented the front of her smooth-flowing skirt, with a border of lace encircling her chapel-length train. The bride’s ensemble was completed with a lace-covered headpiece that held a triple layer of scalloped, imported tulle. The bride’s personal attendant was Kathryn Warren.
Serving as maid of honor was the bride's sister, Francine Jacobsen. Matron of honor was Bonita Jacobsen Stum, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cynthia Scharton and Michelle Malmgren, friends of the bride. The bride’s attendants wore huckleberry- colored gowns of polyester chiffon lined with acetate taffeta. The sheer overlay formed a cowl neckline with split cape sleeves and a handkerchief hemline.
Best man was Robert Corbin, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Douglas Eakin and Dennis Eakin, brothers of the groom, and Wilbur Stum Jr., friend of the groom. Ushering the guests were James Jacobsen, John Jacobsen and Gary White, brothers of the bride.
Candlelighters were Suzanne White and Mickey Stum. Kristina Black, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Molly Warren and Stacey White served as honorary flower girls. The girls’ gowns were of lavender fabric trimmed with ivory lace.
Ringbearer was Curt Scharton. Darren Eakin, nephew of the groom, served as honorary ringbearer.
Honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jacobsen, grandparents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Vance, Sr., great-aunt and uncle of the bride; and Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, grand¬parents of the groom.
A reception was held at the Stockman’s Club in Fairmont. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jacobsen and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jacobsen, relatives of the bride; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold McQueen, aunt and uncle of the groom.
