    The Golden Wedding Celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik in Delia was attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends on September 22, 1974. All immediate family were present except one grandson, Johnny O'Toole, Decatur, Ga.

    Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik of Delia will be honored Sunday, September 22, with a Golden Wedding Anniversary reception from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Delia Grade School. The reception will be given by their children; Lavern Zlatnik, Delia; Mrs. Rosella Hoglund, Overland Park; Leland Zlatnik, Topeka; Mrs Evelyne Parkerson, Decatur, Ga.; Mrs. Mary Alice Huntsman, Halstead; Mrs. Judith Macha, Arlington Heights, Ill., and their families.

    Mr. and Mrs. Zlatnik were married September 24, 1924 in Delia. They have lived all fifty years at the same farm home. They have fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    Joseph and Cecile Zlatnik celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary quietly at home on Saturday, September 24.

    On Sunday morning after church services where they had been recognized by the congregation and congratulated by their friends, they returned to the home of Laverne and Velma Zlatnik. Soon the other members of the family began to arrive with baskets of food for a reunion.

    Those attending were Rosella and Harold Hoglund and son Douglas, Overland Park; Leland and JoAnn Zlatnik and son Aaron, Miss Judy Harris, Mary Alice and David Huntsman and daughters Brenda and Laura, Judith and Garry Macha and sons Brent and Geogary; Mark Zlatnik and children Julie, Sheila, Scott and Melissa, Carolyn and Jeff Johnston, and Alan and Tammy Zlatnik, all of Topeka.

    One daughter, Evelyn Parkerson, Decatur, Ga., was not able to come at this time. She plans to come in October so that she can attend the Keller reunion also which will be October 9.

    Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rossee, Holton, were afternoon callers.

    Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Thompson, Riverside, Calif., plan to arrive in Rossville October 7 when they can attend the Keller reunion and spend a week visiting relatives and friends.

    Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik, Delia, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in Delia Community Center.

    Leland Zlatniks Celebrate 25th Anniversary
    The Zlatnik families gathered at Gage Park in Topeka on Sunday, June 7, with well-filled baskets and ice cream freezers. They were honoring Leland and JoAnn Zlatnik and helping them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

    Guests were: their sons, Aaron, Bret and Craig Zlatnik; Miss Susan Horn; JoAnn’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Glenn, Lecompton; her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ricard Glenn, Molly and Wendy, Topeka; Leland’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik, Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Zlatnik, Mr. Mark Zlatnik and children, Julie, Sheila, Scott and Melissa, all of Delia; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoglund, Douglas and Bradley, Overland Park: Mrs. Evelyne Parkerson, Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. David Huntsman, Brenda and Laura, Halstead; Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huntsman, Mr. and Mrs. Garry Macha.     Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik and daughter Evelyne, and Helen Livingston visited at the Leland Zlatnik home Sunday evening. They all went to Gage Park again to listen to the Santa Fe Band Concert. Aaron, Bret and Craig Zlatnik and Miss Susan Horn all played in the Band.

    Roger Leland Zlatnik

    Roger Leland Zlatnik passed away on September 29, 2020. He was born February 12, 1929 to Joseph and Cecil Zlatnik. His wife of 64 years, Joann, survives as do sons: Bret Zlatnik (St. Louis, MO) and Craig Zlatnik, wife Barbara (Houston, TX); son Aaron Zlatnik is deceased. There are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Roger grew up in Delia, Kansas and graduated from Washburn University. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Roger spent most of his career in furniture sales for Ed Marling’s and Lewis Furniture Stores. Prior to retirement, he served as a guide and then Assistant Sargant of Arms for the Kansas Senate at the Kansas State Capitol. Survived by one brother, Laverne Zlatnik and sisters, Rosella Hoglund and Mary Alice Huntsman. Memorial Service will be held October 9 at 1:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
