Laverne Zlatnik, both of Delia, will be honored with a reception in the Delia Presbyterian church basement from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, August 5. Friends and relatives are invited. J. Laverne Zlatnik and Velma Lewelling were married August 8, 1948, in Soldier, Ks. They have lived in the Delia community since they’ve been married.

Laverne and Velma Zlatnik, Delia, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at an open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 9, at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Hosts will be Mrs. Zlatnik’s mother, Mrs. Louise Lewelling, Rossville, and their children — Mark and Linda Zlatnik, Wichita; Terry and Carolyn Orozco, Topeka; and Alan and Tammy Zlatnik, Rossville. Velma and Laverne have twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. Velma Lewelling and J. Laverne Zlatnik were married August 8,1948, at the home of the bride near Soldier, with the Rev. Alex Eckert officiating. Mr. Zlatnik is a semi-retired farmer and Mrs. Zlatnik retired from U.S.D. #321. The couple requests no gifts, please.
