Candles in tall candelabra between baskets of pink gladioli and white carnations at the altar of the First Christian Church were lighted by Miss Linda Gibler, Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Ethel Jo Hatch, Lenexa, Saturday, May 20. This was the setting for the marriage of Roberta Irene Minnis, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Russell G. Minnis, Omaha, Neb., and Mr. Robert Dennis Bennett, son of Mrs. Robert Bennett, Eureka.

Miss Wilma Kathryn Price, organist, furnished music as the guests were seated and after the candle lighting Miss Natalie Parker sang "Whither Thou Goest" and "Wedding Prayer." Miss Gibler and Miss Hatch wore floor length dresses of pink lace and crepe with portrait necklines. The short sleeves of the empire bodices were of lace and the A-line skirts were of crepe. Their belts were of pink satin and they wore open crown pillboxes of matching satin. The hats were complemented with short tulle veils and pink carnations were worn as wrist corsages.

Dr. Minnis gave his daughter in marriage and the Rev. Ben Duerfeldt officiated at the double ring ceremony solemnized at 2:30 p.m. For her wedding the bride chose a full length sleeveless A-line gown of linen. A band of Venice lace defined the empire waistline. A separate coat of the same material with Venice lace sleeves was open in front and fell from her shoulders to the floor. In the back it tapered to a chapel length train. A profile cap of Venice petals accented with crystals and pearls held her bouffant silk illusion veil. The bridal bouquet was fashioned of white roses and babysbreath.

Mrs. Gary Marriott, was matron of honor and Miss Peggy English, Eureka and Miss Mary Kay Pearl, Bartlesville, Okla., were bridesmaids.

The three attendants and the candlelight's wore identical dresses and hats. The attendants carried bouquets of pink carnations and babysbreath on lemon leaves.

Mr. Donald Bennett, Eureka, was best man for his brother. Mr. Gerald Brizendine, Wichita, served as groomsman and ushers were Mr. Daniel Vossman, Beloit; Mr. Thomas Harrison, Mission; Mr. Raymond Minnis and Mr. Richard Minnis, Omaha, Neb., brothers of the bride.

Mrs. Minnis, mother of the bride, wore an aqua lace suite, matching hat and accessories. The groom's mother, whose sheath was beige wore bone colored accessories. Their corsages were light and dark pink carnations respectively.

Mrs. H.O. Minnis was in charge of the church reception that followed the ceremony. She was assisted by Miss Pat Emrich and Mrs. Corinne Greene. Mrs. William Benham registered the guests.

The bride's table was centered with a four tier wedding cake. Satin bells adorned the top layer and the lower tiers were separated by sugar bells and pink rosebuds. Silver candelabra on each side were entwined with flowers. An arrangement of pink carnations and greenery repeated the reception colors.

Mr. and Mrs. Bennett, for their wedding trip are traveling to San Antonio, Tex., where they will make their home during his term of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Mrs. Bennett is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in elementary education. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi social sorority and has been doing substitute teaching in the Omaha school system the past semester.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence. He holds a degree in pharmacy and is a member of Rho Chi professional honorary fraternity.

The bride's travel ensemble was a sleeveless green sheath with a companion coat of floral print. Her accessories were matching green and she wore a corsage of white roses.
