Stanley and Dorothy Davis, Route 8, Topeka, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 13, followed by a dance at the Rossville American Legion hall in Rossville.
Hosts will be their children: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sage, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Martinek, Delia; and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married January 31, 1947, in Topeka. They have three grandchildren.

Carolyn Ann Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Davis, of Topeka, was married to Mr. Thomas V. Sage, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Sage, Nov. 23.
The Rev. D. Howard Elliott officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony in the First Reformed Presbyterian Church. Candlelighters were Steven Thompson and Stanley Thompson.
The bride wore a floor-length A line gown of ivory peau de soie and peau d’ange lace. The empire bodice had a stand-away collar and elbow-length sleeves trimmed with jeweled lace appliques. A small flat bow defined the waistline. The skirt had an overlay of scalloped lace in tunic effect. A watteau train was fastened high on the back with a bow and extended to chapel length.
Her cathedral-length veil was caught to a wedding ring circle of peau de soie trimmed with lace and pearls. She carried a cascade of gold and bronze pompon chrysanthemums.
Attending the bride were Beverly Davis and Sharrai Sage, sisters of the couple, and Susan Nadeau and Mrs. Harry McGee, both of Kansas City. The bridegroom’s brother, Scott Sage, was ring bearer.
John Herron, Dallas, Tex., was best man and groomsmen were Mike Elliott and Dwight Martinek, Manhattan, and Bob Wehner, Rossville. Ushers were Charles Stambaugh, Maple Hill, and Bob Duley.
A reception in Gage Center restaurant followed the ceremony. After a short wedding trip, the couple is at home at 3213 State, Manhattan.
The bride attended School of Radiologic Technology at the University of Kansas Medical Center and is employed by Dr. R. K. Wallace at St. Mary Hospital, Manhattan.
The bridegroom is attending Clark’s School of Business and is employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. Both are graduates of Rossville High School.
