  Documents » Slide Show		Anniversary- Decker, Ernest and Mary 1 Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Decker Celebrate 55th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Decker, Rossville, were honored by their children on their 55th wedding anniversary with a dinner at China Inn in Topeka Friday evening, January 28. Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stach, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meyer, Gretchen and Blake, all of Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Decker, Brent, Emily and Bryce and Mr. and Mrs. Urban Schmitz and Matthew, all of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Steele, Rod and Russ, St. Marys. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Decker, Kansas City, Mo., were unable to attend, but called earlier in the day. The Deckers were married January 28, 1922, at Topeka and will have resided in the Rossville community 55 years this summer.
  		Anniversary- Decker, Ernest and Mary 2 Mr. and Mrs. Decker Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Decker, Rossville, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary quietly in their home Thursday. They were married Jan. 28, 1922, in Topeka, and have lived in Rossville all their married lives. They have four children: Winifred Stach, Rossville; Willis Decker, Kansas City; Gerald Decker, Topeka; and Charlotte Steele, St. Marys; and 14 grandchildren.

  Obituary- Decker, Arthur Arthur Gerald Decker Arthur Gerald Decker, 87 passed away Monday, March 26,2018 at a local hospital after sustaining injuries from a fall at his home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois, his sons, Brent and wife Loan, Bryce and wife Tricia, daughter, Emily, four grandsons, Darrin, Nickolas, Braydn and Issak and his younger sister, Charlotte resides in St. Mary’s, Kansas and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Decker, sister, Winnie, and brothers, Robert and Willis. Mr. Decker was born and raised in Rossville, Kansas and later became a lifelong resident of Topeka, Kansas. In his early years, Mr. Decker worked at his parents’ farm. After high school, he served in the Navy and later in the Marines during the Korean War. He worked at Goodyear for 38 years before retiring. Mr. Decker was an active member of the Elmont United Methodist Church, Shriners, The Marine Corp League and the local Lincoln Club. His hobbies included antique cars, antique toys, working in the yard and taking care of his beloved pets. He was a good father and husband and was always there to help anyone in need. Funeral services for Arthur will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Elmont United Methodist Church, 6635 NW Church Lane, where his family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
