He was born Oct. 7, 1911 on the same farm and spent all his life in Jackson County. He was serving his second term as a Jackson County commissioner and was the current chairman of the commission. He was the Jackson County agent for the Farmer’s Union Insurance Company. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Lodge No. 419, AF&AM, and ZCBJ Moravian Lodge, all at Delia. He was a charter member of the Delia Lions Club and was a member of Royal Arch Masons No. 42 at Holton. He was a member of the Jackson County fair board. Survivors include his wife, Ella, at home; two sons, Eugene W. Kovar and Oren Dean Kovar, both at home; two brothers, Frank E. Kovar, Rogers, Texas, and Edward C. Kovar, Rossville; and two sisters, Mrs. Millie Badura, Rossville, and Mrs. Viola Gideon, Paxico. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at the Delia Presbyterian Church with burial in the Moravian Cemetery. Parker Mortuary in Topeka was in charge of arrangements.

Clyde Kovar family wishes to acknowledge with deepest thanks to all their neighbors, friends and relatives whose many expressions of love, words of sympathy, and acts of kindness has served to uphold them in their time of sorrow in the loss of their loved one. The beautiful flowers, the many cards, the many letters, the comforting prayers, and the contributions for the memorial fund were all deeply appreciated. We want to especially thank the U.P.W. of the Delia Presbyterian Church for serving lunch, the people who furnished the music at the church services, the Rev, Donald Sears for officiating at the memorial services, the pallbearers, and the Masonic Lodge for the graveside services.   		Obituary- Kovar, Clyde 3 Clyde Kovar Clyde Kovar, one of the six children of Joe and Fannie Kovar, was born October 7, 1912 near Delia. He attended Delia Grade and High School. Since then he has devoted his entire years to farming and other interests. Clyde had many interests in his life, but his farming, 4-H work and cattle interests were his chief hobbies. He was united in marriage to Ella Elsik of Temple, Texas, on January 14, 1936. To this union were born three children; one daughter dying in infancy, and two sons, Eugene W. and Oren Dean. At an early age Clyde Kovar became a member of the Czech Presbyterian Church near Delia and when it was disorganized, he transferred his membership to the Delia Presbyterian Church where he had served in the capacity of a trustee, elder, and treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic bodies at Delia and Holton, where he held many offices during the years. He was also a member of the Eastern Star at Rossville. Clyde was a charter member and a past president of the Delia Lions Club. He also was a past president of the Czech-Moravian cemetery board. He served for sixteen years on the old PMA Board representing Washington Township; was a past vice president of the Jackson County Livestock Association and a director of the County Fair Board. He was a member of the ZCBJ Moravian Lodge and a member of the Farmers Union. For the past two years he served as one of the Jackson County Agents for the Farmers Union Insurance Company. Clyde Kovar was serving his second term as a Jackson County Commissioner, being the chairman this year. He was active in 4-H Club work and was a leader for many years. In 1952 he received a conservation award from the Jackson County Bankers Association for his active work in land conservation. He is survived by his wife and two sons, as previously mentioned; two brothers, Frank of Rogers, Texas, and Edward of Rossville, Kansas; two sisters Mrs. Millie Badura of Rossville and Mrs. Viola Gideon of Paxico, Kansas; one brother, Rev. Louis J. Kovar, preceded him in death; many relatives and a host of friends. Clyde believed in thriftiness, believed in his church convictions and served his community to the best of his ability by being a good neighbor and a good Samaritan. Services were held at the Presbyterian Church on June 27, 1965 at 2 p.m. Rev. D.F. Sears officiated. Mrs. Joseph Zlatnik and Laverne Zlatnik sang several songs. They were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ira Williams. Pallbearers were E.W. Rezac, Ignac Horak, Alfred Koci, Scott Klusmire, Milan Hejtmanek and George Olejnik. Funeral services were held June 27, 1965 at the Delia Presbyterian Church with burial in the Moravian Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Ella; 2 sons, Eugene W.
