• Documents		Obituary- Oldfield, John JOHN J. OLDFIELD John J. Oldfield, 83, died Monday at his home here. He was born February 2, 1874, in Iowa and came to Kansas 75 years ago. He was a retired farmer who had lived in this vicinity many years. Survivors include five sons, Charles James Oldfield of the home; Thomas Oldfield, Topeka; Henry Oldfield, Denver; Ernest Oldfield of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Louis Oldfield of Ogden, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Root, Topeka, and Mrs. Lois Mullenbuch, Netawaka. and one brother, Tom Oldfield, Silver Lake. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the Rossville Christian church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery.
  		Birthday- Oldfield, John John Oldfield was pleasantly surprised Wednesday evening on his 68th birthday at his home when friends came up to help him celebrate his birthday anniversary. The evening was spent playing cards. Guests were, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Johnson, Anna Cullen and Mr. Cullen, Mrs. Martha Root and son of Kansas City.

  Documents		Marriage- O'Donnell, Margert-Oldfield, John A pleasant surprise was given Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Oldfield Wednesday evening at their home north of town by a party of Rossvillians, in honor of their newly married son, John Oldfield and wife. The surprise party was under the leadership of our genial grain merchant, W.M. Mitchner. The evening was spent in social conversation and music.
