• Documents » Slide Show		Obituary- Franz, Dorothy 1 Dorothy Ferne Franz Dorothy Ferne Franz, 73, Topeka, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1995, at a Topeka nursing home. Mrs. Franz taught school at Covert High School, Delia High School and Hanover High School. She was born Feb. 8, 1922, at Deni¬son, the daughter of Ben and Florence Harvey Akright. She was reared in Denison and was graduated from Hol¬ton High School in 1940. She earned a degree in vocational home economics at Kansas State Agricultural College at Manhattan. Mrs. Franz was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Delia and the Ladies group at the church. She married Louis Franz on Sept. 19, 1948, at Holton. He survives. Other survivors include a sister, Josephine Disney, Topeka; and a brother, Harold Akright, Escondido, Calif. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Delia Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the Delia Cemetery. Mrs. Franz will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys where relatives and friends will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.

Visitation was at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Her service was at 10:00 Friday at the Delia Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Delia Cemetery.
