 | Obituary- Hook, Emma Aged Silver Lake resident dies Saturday
Mrs. Emma A. Hook, 91, Silver Lake, died Saturday in a Topeka convalescent center. Services were held Tuesday in a Topeka mortuary, with interment in Rochester Cemetery.
Born Apr. 14, 1879, at Winsor, Ill., she had lived in the Silver Lake community 73 years. She was married to Benjamin M. Hook, Feb. 23, 1898, at Rossville. He died Aug. 14, 1954. Mrs. Hook was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Hook, in 1944.
Survivors include four sons; Guilford and Benjamin M. Jr., both of Silver Lake; Maynard, of Route 3, Topeka, and Howard D., of Route 6, Topeka; three daughters: Mrs. Vera Howell, Silver Lake; Mrs. Audrey Wood, Topeka; and Mrs. Norma Wood, Shawnee Mission; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Roberta Bennett of Wichita spent Saturday and Sunday of last week with her grandmother, Mrs. Ethelyn Ferguson.
