Announcement is made of the marriage of Mrs. Mabel Eversole and Mr. Von S. Bloom. The ceremony took place Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka before an altar decorated (with snapdragons and lighted tapers.
Dr. Roy W. Zimmer, pastor of the church, read the service. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Gutshall of Rossville.
Following the ceremony there was a wedding supper at the Hotel Jayhawk with covers laid for Mr. and Mrs. Bloom, Mr. and Mrs. Gutshall, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd A. Flanagan, and Lieut. Worthy Murchinson, of Topeka; and the bride’s daughters, Miss Patricia Lee and Miss Frances Eversole.
The couple will reside in Rossville where both Mr. and Mrs. Bloom are employed by the Kansas Power and Light Company.

Announcement is made of the marriage of Mrs. Mabel B. Bloom and Mr. Jess L. Bruce of Hoisington, Kansas.
The ceremony took place Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Potwin Presbyterian church in Topeka with the Rev. Don Evans reading the service. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gutshall.
Mr. Bruce has been engaged in the oil business in Kansas for the past thirty years; for the present the couple will reside in Rossville. |

 | Obituary- Bruce, Mabel ROSSVILLE -- Mrs. Mabel B. Bruce, 88, Rossville, died Thursday, Dec. 29, at a Rossville nursing home. Mrs. Bruce had been Kansas Power and Light Co., office manager at Rossville for 25 years.
She was born Dec. 2, 1895 at Rossville, the daughter of Frank N. and Anna Mary Wilt Binns, and spent her life in Rossville.
Mrs. Bruce was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Rossville. She was married to George Eversole in 1920. He died in 1927. A daughter, Geraldine Mae Eversole, died in infancy.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Michie, Westchester, Ill., and Mrs. Eileen Fances Furr, Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
