 | Anniversary- Martin, Gerald and Doris Gerald and Doris Martin of Meriden will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. and a dance from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, all at the VFW Hall in Meriden.
Hosts will be their children, Larry and Jeannie Martin, Valley Falls, and Keith and Becky Martin, Topeka, and their three grandchildren. The couple have three great-grandchildren.
Gerald T. Martin and Doris R. Brown were married April 2, 1948, in Oskaloosa.
Mr. Martin is retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 34 years of service.
Mrs. Martin is a homemaker.

MERIDEN — Doris R. Martin, 75, Meriden, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at a Topeka care center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Ozawkie, to Wil¬bur C. and Ethel M. Laird Brown. She attended pub¬lic schools in Valley Falls. She lived in Topeka before she moved to Meriden in 1959.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Meriden.
She married Gerald T. Martin on April 2, 1947, in Oskaloosa. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry Dean Martin, Valley Falls, and Keith G. Martin, Topeka; three sisters, Maxine Beerbower, Lampe, Mo., Dorma Allen, Meriden, and Harriett Tullis, McLouth; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Barnett's Meriden Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ozawkie Cemetery. Mrs. Martin will lie in state after 10 a.m. Wednesday at tire funeral home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
