ROSSVILLE- Naomi Marguerite (Jennings) Flett, 92, of Rossville, KS, formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Rossville Health and Rehabilitation. She was born September 8, 1925 in Hiawatha, KS the daughter of Delbert F. and Grace M. (Solomon) Gibbs.
Naomi had lived in the Holton community since 2003 and previously in Delphos, KS for 32 years. She was a homemaker and had also worked for Sunflower Creamery in Everest, Gay-Gibson Garments in Horton, Wilde Tool Plant and Justice Manufacturing both in Hiawatha and for El Dorado Campers in Minneapolis, KS.
She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and a former member of Delphos United Methodist Church. Naomi was also a member of United Methodist Women at Delphos U.M.C. and lifetime member of Delphos American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 and Delphos V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3035.
Naomi married Milton Jennings on January 11, 1945; they later divorced. She married Stanley D. Flett on September 8, 1972 in Belleville, KS; he preceded her in death on July 12, 2003.
Survivors include sons, Samuel D. Jennings (Susan) of Topeka, KS and Joseph M. Jennings (Rosalind) of Lawrence, KS; a daughter, Grace Ellen Heir (T) of Maple Hill, KS; a sister, Rebecca Spaight of Hiawatha, KS; brothers, Delbert F. Gibbs, Jr. of Hiawatha, KS and Jerry D. Gibbs of Lenexa, KS; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian F. Myers and Mary Burnett and brothers, Marvin Gibbs, Robert Gibbs, Harry Gibbs and Joseph Gibbs.
Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 16th, 2018 at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Family will greet friends following the memorial service. Inurnment will be in the Hall Cemetery in Delphos at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Delphos U.M.C. or E.U.M. Church in Holton c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436. |
