Helen and Leo Lord, Rossville, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Sunday.
Leo N. Lord and Helen A. Kokenge were married January 19, 1952, at the Washington County Courthouse, Washington, KS.
They are the parents of Susan L. Stapel, Meriden; Micheal L. Lord, Willard; Cindy K. Sweany, St. Marys; and Debbie D. Lord, Rossville. They have three grandchildren.
Mr. Lord is retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Mrs. Lord is employed by the Rossville Valley Manor.

anniversary today.
Leo Noel Lord and Helen Ann Kokenge were married Jan. 19, 1952. at the Washington (Kan.) County Courthouse.
They are the parents of four children, Susan Stapel, Meriden; Micheal Lord, Willard; Cindy Sweany, St. Marys; and Debbie Lord, Rossville. They have three grandchildren.
Mr. Lord is a veteran of World War II. He is retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
Mrs. Lord is employed at Rossville Valley Manor.

Helen A. Lord, 78, Rossville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at Stormont Vail Regional Hospital, Topeka.
She was born May 31, 1932, at Seneca, the daughter of Lawrence and Frances Rilinger Kokenge. She attended St. Peter and Paul Schools in Seneca.
Mrs. Lord was a homemaker while her children were growing up and later worked at the Rossville Valley Manor. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Raymond Kokenge, a son-in-law, Rex Stapel and a brother-in law, Charles Warner.
She was united in marriage to Leo N. “Buck” Lord at the Washington County Courthouse in Washington, Jan. 19, 1952. He survives of the home in Rossville. She was very devoted to “Buck” and to her children.
Other survivors include a son, Mike (Laura) Lord, Willard, daughters, Donna (Bill) Miller, Beatrice, NE, Sue Stapel, Meriden, Cindy (Jim) Sweany, St. Marys and Debbie Lord, Rossville; her brother, Elmer (Marlene) Kokenge, Rossville; two sisters, Sister Geraldine Kokenge, Concordia, and Lorene “Peggy” Warner, Pembroke, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Deanie Fager, Onaga; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Matt, Lisa, Kristy, Christine (Toby), Michelle and Rachel: six great-grandchildren, Freddie, Faith, Floyd, Aaliyah, Jordan and Ava.
Private graveside services and burial was held at the Rossville Cemetery, Friday, Jan. 28.
