She had at least 5 siblings: Roy, Anna, William, Herman and Lauretta. At 21 she married 26 year old Harold Edward James, a car mechanic and farmer who was born in Oklahoma. They had at least two children: Helen and Ronald. Between 1921 and 1926 they moved to Oregon. They lived in Coos County, Oregon and Walla Walla, Washington, and later in Jackson County, Oregon. Harold died in 1938.
