MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED
The marriage of Miss Teresa G. Besta, daughter of Mrs. Winifred L. Besta and the late Mr. Edward B. Besta, to Mr. Robert H. Marney, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ivan Marney of Rossville, took place on May 14 at 2 p. m. in the Rossville Methodist Church.
Rev. Don Jones officiated at the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with varieties of spring flowers.
Mrs. H.D. Richardson and Mrs. Marlin Harth sang “I Love You Truly” and “Because”. They were accompan¬ied by Mrs. Joe Campbell at the piano.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Edward Besta, wore a light blue French suit with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations and roses.
Ring bearer was Karen Marney, niece of the groom. She wore a red dress with tiara head dress. She carried a heart-shaped pillow covered with white satin and trimmed in pink roses.
Mrs. Duane Hudson, friend of the bride and groom, was the matron of honor and wore a light gray-blue suit and white accessories. Her corsage [missing rest]

MISS TERESA BESTA
Miss Teresa Besta was the honored guest at a miscellaneous bridal shower given at the Ivan Marney home Sunday, April 24, by Mrs. Elzora Homan, Mrs. Marian Marney and Mrs. Letha Marney.
The afternoon was spent playing games and refreshments were served.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Marney celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Sunday, may 19, with a family dinner. Dinner was held in the Rossville Senior Center at Rossville It was hosted by their children and granddaughter: Gary Marney, Delia; Scott and Sandy Allen, Holton; and Brandon, Kim and Erin Magette, Rossville. Also attending were Mrs. Gertie Yocum, St. Marys; Mrs. Mamie Marney; Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Kerwin; Terri Kerwin; Ben Besta, Richie, Cindy, Patti and Stacy; Mrs. And Mrs. Ron Cowan, Rodney, Kelly, Kevin, and Shane, of Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Besta; Mrs. And Mrs. Dean Covert, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Val Palmer, Wakarusa; Mrs. And Mrs. Warren Kimbal, Soldier; and MR. and Mrs. Kevin Gibson, Leona.
After dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Nick Yocum, St. Marys. Bob and Teresa were married May 14, 1955, at the Rossville Methodist Church in Rossville.

| Anniversary- Marney, Robert and Teresa 2 Ruby Anniversary for Marneys
Teresa and Bob Marney, Delia, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 and a dance from 8:00 until midnight Saturday, May 13, at the Rossville American Legion building. The public is invited to the dance.
The occasion will be hosted by their children, Kim and Mark Davis, Topeka; Gary and Kim Marney; and Sandy and Scott Allen, Holton. The couple has seven grandchildren.
Bob Marney and Teresa Besta were married May 14, 1955, at the Rossville Methodist Church. Mr. Marney retired from Santa Fe Railway after 43 years of service. Mrs. Marney retired from Hallmark Cards after 21 years of service.
The couple requests no gifts.

Marney Couple to Celebrate Golden Anniversary
Robert H. “Bob” and Teresa Marney, Holton, will celebrate their 50lh wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the Rossville Senior Center, 429 Pearl, Rossville.
Teresa Besta and Bob Marney were married May 14, 1955, at the Rossville Methodist Church, Rossville. They lived in Delia for 39 years before moving to Holton in 2004.
Hosts will be their three children and their spouses: Gary Marney, Holton, and his fiance, Leslie Cunningham; Sandy and Scott Allen, Holton; and Kim and Mark Davis, Topeka. The couple has eight grandchildren: Joshua Marney, Manhattan; Torri Marney, Heather Marney, and Taylor Allen, all of Holton; and Lannie Allen, Erin Miller, Ethan Davis, and Sean Davis, all of Topeka.
Mr. Marney retired from Santa Fe Railway in 1991 after 43 years of service.
Mrs. Marney retired from Hallmark Cards in 1993 after 28 years of service.

Sandy Marney, Delia, and Scott Allen, Holton, were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Holton Evangel United Methodist Church. Pastor John Richter officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Marney, Delia, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale R. Allen, Holton.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of bridal polyester and pearled Alecon lace. The fitted bodice has a sweetheart neckline trimmed with a ruffle of matching lace. Her chapel length train was trimmed in three rows of lace. She wore a hat of pearled Alencon lace with a floor-length veil of bridal illusion. She carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses, pink mini-carnations, white spider mums, and stephanotis, cascading over a white Bible, a gift from her grandmother.
Matron of honor was Kim Magette. Rossville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cindy Besta, Rossville, and Susanne Besta, Topeka, cousins of the bride; and Barbie Copeland, Rossville, and Marti Clark, Silver Lake.
Erin Magette, niece of the bride, Rossville, was flower girl. Sarah Kerwin, Ozawkie, cousin of the bride, and Monica Magnessun, cousin of the groom, Bismark, N.D., were ring bearers.
The groom’s best man was Dennis Klahr, Holton. Groopismen were Steve Allen, brother of the groom; Henry Hill and Rick Gibson, all of Holton; and G.V. Salts, San Diego, CA.
Ushers were Gary Marney, brother of the bride, Brandon Magette, brother- in-law of the bride, Rossville; Dan Zeller, Brad McAllister, and Dennis Ashcraft, Holton.
Candlelighters were David R. and Aaron Allen, Holton, cousins of the groom.
Judy Zwonitzer, Holton, played “The Wedding March” as the processional and “Trumpet Voluntary” as the recessional, on the pipe organ. Pat Kerwin, Delia, played piano accompaniment for Kim Megette, singing “You Decorated My Life” and “Looking Through the Eyes of Love.”
Carrie Allen, Atlanta, GA., cousin of the groom, was rice girl. Elizabeth Bowser, Holton, sat at the guest book.
Susan Kerwin, Ozawkie, aunt of the bride; Laurie Marney, Rossville, sister- in-law of the bride; Joyce Gibson, Leona; Tracy Booth, Delia; and Dina Beightel, Holton, took care of the gift tables.
Servers were Sherri Lambert and Robbin Golder, Rossville; Carole Cochren and Denise Hutchinson, Circleville; and Aleta Anderson, Holton.
Honored guests were the bride’s great-grandmother, Mrs. Gertie Yocum, St. Marys; her grandparents, Mrs. Mamie Marney and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Kerwin, Rossville; and the groom’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scheidegger, Holton.
A dance followed the reception at the Eagles Lodge, Holton. Music was provided by Jerry Nehaus and the Countrymen, Sabetha.
Mrs. Allen graduated from Rossville High School and attended Kansas State. She is employed at the Kansas Department of Transportation. Mr. Allen graduated from Holton High School. He is a farmer and is also employed by Allen Feed and Farm Supply, Holton. The couple is at home in Holton.
