Charles and Mary Martin, Silver Lake, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
A reception at the Silver Lake Senior Center Saturday, September 1, from 7 to 10 p.m., will be hosted by their children and their families. Their children and spouses are Joe and Peggy Pistora, Terry and Karen Hay, Ron and Diane Martinek, Bob and Nancy Pfannenstiel.
Charles Martin and Mary Krasny were married August 30, 1951, in Topeka.
Charles retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Topeka after 34 years of service. Mary recently retired after 24 years as a school bus driver.

The marriage of Mary Diane Martin to Ronnie Dean Martinek was solemnized at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 1981, in Topeka's Gage Park Rose Garden. Reverend William Hurtig, Silver Lake United Methodist Church, officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Martin and Mr. and Mrs. Orville L. Martinek, Silver Lake. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Krasny, Rossville; Mr. and Mrs. William Martinek, and Mr. and Mrs. J.W. George, Silver Lake.
The bride wore a long white gown which he had designed and made. Her silk bouquet of red and yellow roses with white carnations added the finishing touch.
The groom was dressed in a long-tailed white tuxedo.
The bride's maid of honor was her sister, Miss Nancy Martin, Silver Lake. Two other sisters, Mrs. Terry Hay, Overland Park, and Mrs. Joe Pistora, Linwood, and a friend, Mrs. Mike Perry, Topeka, were bridesmatrons.
The groom's brother, Kenneth Martinek, Golden, Colo., served as best man. Mr. Terry Hay, Overland Park; Mr. Mark Elliott, Silver Lake; and Mr. Mike Perry, Topeka, were groomsmen.
Mrs. Martinek is a senior nursing student at Washburn University and is employed with Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center. Mr. Martinek is a senior at Washburn University, majoring in criminal justice. He is serving his internship this summer.
After a honeymoon in the Ozarks, the couple is at home on Route 1, Silver Lake.
