  		Anniversary- Mitchell, George and Ethel 2 GEORGE MITCHELLS HONORED ON 54th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell were honored guests at a dinner Sunday in celebration of their 54th wedding anniversary. The dinner was given at the home of Mrs. Roxie Nadeau.   Obituary- O'Donnell, Velda Velda L. O'Donnell ROSSVILLE - Velda L. O'Donnell, 95, of Rossville, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at a St. Marys nursing home. She was born Aug. 27, 1909, in Wamego, the daughter of George and Ethel Lister Mitchell. She had lived in the Rossville community for many years and had lived several years with her daughter in Paxico before going to St. Marys Manor. She had worked as a telephone operator, in a coin laundry and for the Rossville Reporter, all in Rossville. Mrs. O'Donnell was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church and a 59-year member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rossville. She married Thomas W. O'Donnell in 1932. He died in 1974. Surviving are a daughter, Darlene, and her husband, Wayne Clark, Paxico; a brother, Ted Mitchell, Maple Hill; two sisters, Roxie Banta, Silver Lake, and Ruby Adams, Portland, Ore.; two grandsons, Philip Clark, Overbrook, and Doug Clark, Lawrence; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. O'Donnell will lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends until the service time. Memorial contributions may be given to Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, American Legion Auxiliary, and sent in care of the funeral home.
