CLARA MARIE
MITCHELL WINTERS
Clara Marie Mitchell Winters, 85, died Jan. 25, 2009, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.
She was born March 27,1923, at Delia, to Ray L. and Mollie Kovar Mitchell.
Clara married Harold P. Winters,
Aug. 18, 1951, at Bentonville, Ark.
He died Dec. 18, 1975.
She worked for the Fuller Brush Company and the Great Bend Police Department; was a Great Bend resident for 57 years, coming from Jackson County; and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend.
Survivors include three sons: Victor E. Poe Jr., Topeka, Warren C. Graves and wife, Sharon, Rossville, and Harold S. Winters and wife, Jacklyn, Great Bend; a daughter, Tuesday Noonan, Pawnee Rock; a brother, Cody J. Mitchell, Laughlin, Nev.; a sister, Thelma B. Lowey, Montebella, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 16 great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lonnie Winters; a daughter, Beverly Hopkins and a daughter- in-law, Dorothy Poe.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with The Reverend Don Paden officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galatia.
Memorials are suggested to the Clara Winters Memorial Fund in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend, KS 67530.
