| Obituary- Fisher, Mildred Mildred Estell French Fisher
Mildred Estell French Fisher, 96, Topeka, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Fisher worked for Bell Telephone and then helped start the Kansas Parole Board. She retired from the Kansas Department of Corrections in 1965.
She was born May 9, 1900, in Rossville, the daughter of Thaddeus James and Rosetta Isabel Page Myers. She was graduated from Rossville High School and Clark's Business College of Topeka: She had lived in Topeka about 80 years.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of First Baptist Church, Ladies of the Arab Temple Shrine and the auxiliaries to Capitol Post1 No. 1 of the American Legion and Elk's Lodge No. 204. She was a life member of Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Silver Lake.
She married Charles H. French on Oct. 6, 1923, in Silver Lake. He died March 31, 1956. She married Clyde A. Fisher on Sept. 3, 1957, in Topeka. He died Feb. 14, 1964.
Survivors include a stepson, Robert E. Fisher, Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Dr. Clark E. Myers, Atlanta; several step-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Silver Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Fisher will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Capper Foundation for Crippled Children, 3500 S.W. 10th, Topeka, 66604, or to Shriner’s Crippled Children's Hospitals,
