Winifred “Winnie” Kerwin was pleasantly surprised Nov. 16 when 62 family members arrived to celebrate her 90th birthday. She had expected the family dinner to be a gathering with just her husband Clinton, their six children and their spouses.
“I was really surprised that so many family members attended,” the Rossville woman said.
The dinner was held at Puffy’s Steak House in Maple Hill. They enjoyed a delicious meal of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and green beans. The meal was made complete with a birthday cake.
Her favorite birthday gift was a digital picture frame that included pictures from all of the family. “It would take two hours to sit and see all of the pictures on the frame,” Kerwin said. “I’m really proud of the pictures.”
