    Obituary- DeHart, Valorie
    Valorie Anne DeHart, 48, Topeka, was killed in an automobile accident on K-10 highway west of DeSoto on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002.

    Ms. DeHart had been a private detective and a prison guard in Lansing and at the Topeka Correctional Facility, and she was a supervisor for Barton Security in Olathe. She was trained as a nail technician at the American Academy of Hair Design, where she graduated valedictorian of her class.

    She was born April 27, 1954, the daughter of Bruce A. and Lorraine Heim Bleeck Sr. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1972.

    Survivors include a son, Dallas DeHart, Norfolk, Va.; her parents, Bruce and Lorraine Bleeck Sr., Topeka; two brothers, Bruce Bleeck Jr. and Michael Bleeck Sr., both of Topeka; a sister, Laurette McAtee; and a granddaughter.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

    Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.

    Ms. DeHart will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

    Contributions may be made to the Valorie Anne DeHart Memorial Fund to be designated later, and sent in care of the funeral home.
