Donald Bush and Edna Corpening were married November 8,1941 in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Bush is a retired school teacher from Unified School District 501, Topeka. The couple has lived in Rossville for the past 37 years.

She was born May 19, 1919 north of Emporia, the daughter of Jess and Bertha Thomas Corpening. She had lived in the Rossville community the past 44 years. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church. She attended Emporia State Teacher’s College, Emporia, and ten taught in rural schools in Lon County, especially in District #107 at Admire. She was married to Donald L. Bush on November 8, 1941 at Cedar Falls, IA. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Laura Fenton. Other survivors include two sons, Donald L. Bush, Jr., and Roger L. Bush, both of Rossville; two daughters, Linda A. Vacca, Topeka, and Cathy M. Manbeck, Rossville; seven brothers, William Corpening, Eskridge, Donald Corpening, Wichita, Gerald Corpening, Liberty MO, Lester Corpening, Elkhart, Marvin Corpening, Cole Camp, MO, James Corpening, Topeka, Victor Corpening, Emporia; two sisters, Freda Venning, Allen, and Berniece Pickens, Topeka; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Her service was Saturday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church, P.O. 586, Rossville, KS 66533. Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.
