    The marriage of Miss Virginia Eddy daughter of Mrs. Florence V. Eddy and Mr. J.A. Eddy, to Mr. Duane Barney, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Earl Barney, took place Friday evening June 30 at 7:30 in the West Side Christian church. Rev. Cleo Buxton of Flint, Mich. read the double-ring ceremony, and Mrs. T.W. Conley, organist and Miss Irene Doty, vocalist provided the music.

    The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin, and a finger-tip length veil of illusion falling from a white satin crown. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses, carnations and gladioli blossoms.

    Mrs. Ed R. Carter of Stillwater, Okla., attended her cousin as matron of honor. John Gordon McComb lighted the tapers preceding the ceremony, and John Gordon Eddy carried the rings.

    Dr. Earl Barney II of Lawrence was the best man, and the ushers were Mr. Wilbur Johnson, Salina; Mr. John Fleeter, Greensburg; and Mr. Dale Barney, cousin of the groom.

    A reception was held, following the ceremony, at the home of the bride. Assisting were Mrs. Earl Barney II, Lawrence; Mrs. John DoDugan; Miss Gladys Eddy; Mrs. David Linton, Kansas City; Mrs. Charles Harkness III, Lawrence and Miss Barbara Cotton, Manhattan.

    After a two weeks trip thru the South, the couple will be at home at 1200 Laramie in Manhattan.

    The bride is a graduate of Kansas State college and taught school the past year in Wakefield.

    The groom is a graduate of Kansas State college, and is doing research work in the chemistry department milling industry, at Kansas State.
