McDaniel and Gary of Silver Lake drove to Manhattan Sunday to join Mr. Mel Martinek and attend services at the First Methodist Church. Following the services, they went to dinner at Jensons Restaurant to honor Mr. and Mrs. Martinek's Golden Wedding Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Vince Martinek were married February 15, 1916, at Pawnee City, Nebraska. They have three children, Mr. Marvin Martinek of Arvada, Colo., Mrs. Marge McDaniel of Silver Lake, and Mr. Melvin Martinek of Manhattan. They have four grandchildren and one great grandson.   		Anniversary- Martinek, Vincent and Mary 2 Martineks Observe 60th Anniversary MR. AND MRS. VINCE MARTINEK observed their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday. They were married February 15, 1916 at Pawnee City, Nebr., and have lived all their 60 married years on a farm north of Silver Lake. They have three children: Marvin Martinek, Arvada, Colo.; Marjorie McDaniel, Silver Lake; and Melvin Martinek, Colby, Ks. They also have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A family gathering was held for them over the Christmas holidays.
  		Anniversary- Martinek, Vincent and Mary 3 Mr. and Mrs. Vince Martinek were honored over the holidays when they observed their 60th wedding anniversary, which will be February 15th. This was the first time in many years all the family could be together at the same time. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Martinek and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Turner, Kevin and Kim, Arvada, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Martinek, Ft. Collins, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Mel Martinek, Melany and Melinda, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Glenn, Chris and Angela, Detroit, Mich.; and Mr. md Mrs. William McDaniel and Gary of Silver Lake. The family had dinner at the Moose Lodge in Topeka on Saturday night, and Sunday dinner with an anniversary sake at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William McDaniel.

The double-ring ceremony took place at 8 o’clock Thursday evening, September 28, at Jacksonville, Fla. The Rev. John L. Horton, pastor of the Riverside Methodist Church, performed the ceremony at his home. The young bride was lovely in a two-piece powder blue dress with dark brown accessories. Her shoulder corsage was of pink roses and white tuberoses. A strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, was her only ornament. Mrs. John Horton attended the bride as maid of honor and Ensign James Blossom served as best man. A wedding dinner at the Hotel George Washington for the bridal couple followed the ceremony. Mrs. McDaniel, an attractive brunette, is employed in the car service department of the Santa Fe offices. She is a graduate of Silver Lake high school and attended Strickler’s Business College. She has a three- months leave of absence. Ensign McDaniel, a Navy flier, was employed in the office at the Santa. Fe shops before he entered service. He received his advanced training and commission at Corpus Christi, Texas. He is now stationed at the Cecil Field Naval Auxiliary air station at Jacksonville. After a brief honeymoon the couple will be at home at 718 Gilmore Street, Jacksonville, Fla.
  		Anniversary- McDaniel, William and Marjorie William and Marjorie McDaniel Bill and Marge McDaniel, Silver Lake, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 28. They celebrated early by taking their family on a vacation to Lake Haven Resort near Durango, Colo. Attending were their daughter, JoAnne Glenn, Steamboat Springs, Colo., and their son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Luwana McDaniel, Silver Lake, and their three grandchildren and two step- grandchildren. Bill McDaniel and Marjorie Martinek were married Sept. 28, 1944, in Jacksonville, Fla., where Mr. McDaniel was a Navy pilot. Mr. McDaniel is retired from Stauffer Communications and Mrs. McDaniel retired as secretary at Silver Lake High School.
