    Mrs. Hattie Miller
Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Miller, former Rossville resident, who died last Friday in Panama City, Fla., the victim of a heart attack were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, Calif., in the “Little Church of the Flowers”

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Hollywood Beverly Christian church.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Topeka Beulah Chapter No. 34, Order of the Eastern Star.

News of Mrs. Miller’s death was a shock to her Rossville relatives, her sister, Mrs. Anna Wilt and others.

She had gone to Panama City to visit her brother, Ernie Swearingen and was stricken while there. Mrs. Swearingen accompanied the body to Los Angeles, arriving there Tuesday night.

Mrs. Miller was planning to visit in Rossville with Mrs. Wilt and her granddaughter, Mrs. Howard French.

The deceased was born east of Rossville, September 7, 1874, in a log cabin that once occupied a site on the farm just west of the present W. H. Kerr home, the daughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Bennett Swearingen.

She left Rossville sometime in the early 1920’s, residing for a time in Topeka before moving to Los Angeles.

Beside her sister, Mrs. Wilt and brother, Ernie Swearingen of Panama City, Fla., she leaves three daughters Vera Kirby, Bea Sanders and Fleta Robertson, of Los Angeles; and a son Hal of California.
