    Marriage- Wallace, Mary-Montgomery, Asbe
At Topeka, Wednesday the 19th inst., the Rev. A. Montgomery was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Wallace. The marriage ceremony was performed at 4 o'clock p.m. We very devoutly wish them a life as propitious as that which fell to the lot of Jacob and Rachel. Long may they live to sing:
"Blest be the tie that binds
    Our hearts in Christian love,
    The fellowship of kindred minds
    Is like to that above."

    Obituary- Montgomery, Mary E
    Obituary- Montgomery, Mary E
The silver cord is loosed. The golden bowl is broken. Disappointments, disease and woe fill a man’s last days with amentation. Yesterday was the death of a beloved sister, wife and mother and helping Christian. Mary E. Montgomery, that filled the community with mourning. The noble woman was the wife of A. Montgomery, pastor of the Christian Church. She was a loved helpmate and an ardent co-worker in the Lord’s vineyard who has endeared herself with her husband to the people of this place. She was born in Terre Haute, Ind., April 13, 1840 and died Oct 6. 1903, of neuralgia of the heart and stomach, and was buried in the Braman, Okla. cemetery, old soldiers acting as pall-bearers. Rev. [ ] E. Meyers and G. W. Porter conducted the service. A large number of friends attested their appreciation of her worth and their sympathy for the afflicted husband. Relatives were unable to reach Braman in time for the funeral.

Mrs. Montgomery, whose former name was Mrs. Mary Wallace, was married to A. Montgomery November 1888, at Topeka, Kas. She was immersed and joined the Church of Christ at Rossville about 16 years ago. Her former husband, Mr. Wallace, was a Presbyterian minister.

Mrs. Montgomery’s later years have been especially devoted to the work of her master and the numerous evidences of her faithfulness and devotion to His cause prove her a success in not only doing good to others but in building up and chastening a soul which it is no extravagance to believe will become a bright jewel in the Lord’s diadem. May the glory of her life and death, and the sturdy Christian manliness of her husband stimulate us all to the doing of better deeds and the hoping of a better life. – Braman, Okla. Star.
