Hosting the events will be their eight children and their spouses, Mike and Catherine Rafferty, Eskridge: Rocky and Debbie Burrous, Tallahassee, Fla.; Martha Creevan, Rossville: Mike and Carol Bertels, Oklahoma City; Phil and Eileen Bertels, Maple Hill; Alan and Carolyn Bertels, St. Marys; Jerry and Alice Bertels, St. Marys; and Dan and Susan Bertels, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The couple have 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Mr. Bertels retired in 1989 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after almost 40 years of service. Mrs. Bertels retired in 1993 from the Pottawatomie-Wabaunsee Regional Library after 20 years of service. They request no gifts.
