Dale William Wichman, Sr.
HOLTON- Dale William Wichman, Sr., 71, of Holton,
KS, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at a Topeka hospital.
He was born June 6,1945 in Waterville, KS the son of Ernest Fredrich and Patricia F. (Pickett) Wichman.
He had lived in Valley Falls, Clay Center and Oskaloosa before moving to Holton in 1957. Dale attended Holton High School and later served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967.
Dale worked at various auto body shops in Holton and Topeka before opening his own business, Dale’s Body Shop that he owned and operated for 11 years.
In 1994 he opened, Dale’s Used Furniture, on the town square in Holton; for over 20 years. He was a member of the Holton VFW Post # 1367.
He was married to Cheryl A. Wehrkamp on August 30, 1980 in Holton. Cheryl survives of the home. Dale is also survived by his mother, Patricia Wichman I of Holton, KS; his daughters, Tammy Skelton of California, Elisa Ashcraft-Armstrong (Travis) of Rossville, KS and Jennifer Wingender (Michael) of Netawaka, KS; his son, Dale W. Wichman II (Shannon) of California; his sisters, Carol Searles (Rob Rawlings) of Denison, KS and Amy Spiker (Jared) of Circleville, KS; his brothers, Verlin Wichman (Sue) of Holton, KS, Allen Wichman of Topeka, KS and Kevin Wichman (Sandy) of Circleville, KS; 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10,2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
