Obituary- Young, Dale
His widow was former Delia resident
Word has been received of the recent death of Dale Young, 66, in a San Francisco hospital following a long illness. His widow is the former Mrs. Iona Zirkle of Delia.
Mr. Young was a representative of the State Department of Motor Vehicles in Modesto from 1958 to 1966. He was born in Oklahoma and served as veterans service office in the Sonora, Calif., office from 1945 until moving to the Modesto area in 1950. He served as DMV in surrounding communities as well. He was a veteran of the Navy in World War II.
Survivors include his widow of Modesto; a sister: Lena Brinkley of North Carolina; three brothers: Clifford Young, Oklahoma; Vernon Young, of New Mexico; John Young, Tule Lake, California.
Services and private inurnment were held in Modesto.
Dale Young
Private graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Richland for Dale Young, 66, Modesto, Calif., who died Jan. 4 in San Francisco. Cremation followed the death in California.
He was born July 28, 1904, at Turkey Ford, Okla., and lived in California since 1930. He formerly served in the Navy 21 years and was employed by the California Motor Vehicle Dept., before he retired.
He was married to the former Iona Zirkle. She survives.
Brown-Woodward-Leonard Post of the American Legion at Richland will conduct military graveside services. Ted Tibbitts Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
