Obituary- Strimple, Paul 2
Paul Strimple was born near Batavia, Clermont county, Ohio, March 11, 1829. When about 7 years of age he was taken to Indiana, and when 13 to Crawford county Ill., where he grew to manhood.
In 1852 he was married to Eliza McCartney, who died in 1854. to them 2 children were born. Oct 29, 1861, he was married to Louisa J. Bush in Lawrenceville, Illinois. to this union were born 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls. 8 of these children are still living, 2 have died in infancy.
Mr. Strimple moved to Shawnee county, Kansas, in 1870, where he lived till 1882, when he moved to Greenwood county.
In 1860 at Wesley chapel in Lawrence county, he was license to preach in the Methodist church. He preached for about 10 years in Crawford, Lawrence and Clark counties in Illinois, for about 12 years in Shawnee county, Kansas and for as long as his health would permit after coming to Greenwood county.
He was taken sick May 21, while visiting his children and other relatives in Rossville in Shawnee county, after much pain and suffering, passed away June 14, 1913, aged 84 years.
During his sickness he gave clear testimony of his assurance of a home in heaven. Among his last words were: "Tell the folks that it is all right, I am ready and willing to go and be with God."

Thy glorious warfare's past.
The battle's fought, the race is won,
And thou art crowned at last."
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday at 10am and interment was at Neal.
