Obituary- Yingling, Sara

Sara Jane Yingling
OSKALOOSA — Sara Jane Yingling, 79, Oskaloosa, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1993, at a Topeka nursing home.

Mrs. Yingling owned and operated the Dynamite Cafe on W. 6th in Topeka, and later operated the Highway 24 Auction and Pin Oak Antiques, She also had worked at the Ira Price Cafe in North Topeka.

She was born June 1, 1914, in Delia, the daughter of Jerome and Cynthia Lemon Carothers. She lived several years with Frank and Vera Haynes at Grantville. She was graduated from Seaman High School.

Mrs. Yingling was a member of the United Methodist Church in Grantville and a seniors bowling league at Gage Bowl North in Topeka. She volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital, and for the Red Cross, Easter Seals, and Can Help.

She was married to Dorwin E. Yingling March 22, 1933, in Topeka. He died in 1974. A grandson, Brent Yingling, died in 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley S. Farrell, Topeka; a son, Larry Yingling, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Grantville. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery. Mrs. Yingling will lie in state after 11 a.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
