Obituary- Coleman, Thomas 2

Two days before his death he was taken very sick with cramping in his stomach which continued until death, although his speech near the last could not be distinctly understood the last words were something about home and mother. His consciousness to the last was manifest in the fact that he folded his arms across his breast and breathed his last with his eyes and mouth closed. As a tired child goes to sleep in the arms of its mother so this Saintly Father fell asleep in the arms of Jesus. Owing to the peculiar views which he had often expressed concerning funeral sermons none was preached, but the friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert on Sunday at one o'clock. The choir sang "Safe in the arms of Jesus." Rev. Paddleford of the M.E. Church read a portion of scripture, offered prayer, made a brief statement of the life of the deceased and the remains were carried to the station followed by relatives and many friends, from thence by rail to Menoken, where other friends met them and conveyed them to Prairie Home Cemetery where other children, Grandchildren, Great-grand-children, and [continued on next item]
