Obituary- LeMay, Louie

Council Grove - Louie E. LeMay, 61, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Morris County Hospital.
He was born December 22, 1956, in Newport News, Virginia, the son of Melvin and Lupe (Madrigal) LeMay. He graduated from Council Grove High School in 1975. He married Roberta Immenschuh, they had two daughters, Sheena and Brittani. Roberta passed away in 2006. Louie married Cathy Wright on May 7, 2011.
Over the years, Louie worked in feedlots, construction and retired on December 31, 2016, from Union Pacific Railroad. After retirement, Louie and Cathy took a Caribbean Cruise, they enjoyed camping and dancing. Louie enjoyed being outdoors and had a love for cattle and horses. He was never seen without a smile and always took time to visit with friends. Louie loved his family and grandkids, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Louie was confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a member of BLE 90 and the Morris County Youth Rodeo.
He was preceded in death by his father Melvin LeMay, step-father George Vega, and first wife Roberta LeMay.
Louie is survived by his wife Cathy, of the home; mother Lupe Vega of Council Grove; daughters Sheena LeMay-Nelssen and husband Travis, of Providence Village, TX and Brittani LeMay, of Houston, TX; step-children Brett Wright and wife Nicole of Council Grove and Samantha Martin and husband Brady of Topeka; grandchildren Easton and Kalynn Nelssen, Ke’Torian McLemore, Bailee and Kolter Wright, and Weston, Grayson and Berkeley Martin; brothers Mike LeMay and Bret LeMay and wife Terri, all of Council Grove; step-brothers Mario Guerrero, George D. Vega and wife Nancy, Edward Vega and wife Celia, and Jimmy Vega, all of Topeka, and Lil Patterson, of Easton, PA; nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Cremation will follow.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 28th, also at St. Rose.
Memorial contributions may be made to Louie LeMay Memorial Fund, where an account has been established at Farmers & Drovers Bank. Memorials may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
