J.S. Wolff Is Dead
Kicked by Horse. Died Last Sunday.

Jacob S. Wolff [sic Wolf] was kicked by a horse July 10th died from the effects of his injuries last Sunday at his home north west of Rossville.

Mr. Wolff formerly lived near Adrian, in Jackson County, and came to this community last spring. The horse that kicked him was one of a team that he had broken to harness last year. It is said that while Mr. Wolff was at dinner on July 10th the young horses began fighting and that he attempted to separate them. He was kicked in the breast which caused hemorrhages from his lungs.

Mr. Wolff was 43 years old. He was born in Washington County, Md. June 22, 1869. He came to Kansas in 1893 and spent most of that time in Jackson Co. He was married to Miss Mary Walt Feb 15 1895, and is survived by his wife and four sons, his mother, four brothers and five sisters. Mr. Wolff was a member of the U.B. Church.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Job Wykert and held at Olive Branch Church. The burial was in Rossville cemetery.
