Agnes Johnson
May 29, 1936 - September 29, 2022
Fair Oaks, California - Agnes Louise Johnson (O'Donnell) passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022, in Fair Oaks, CA. She was born on May 29, 1936, to Albert and Mary O'Donnell, in the small town of Rossville, Kansas. She is predeceased by her husband Larry (2014). She is survived by her four children: Dr. Lisa Woll (Dr. John Woll), Thomas (Maria), Stephen (Joan), Kathleen Kamibayashi (Rye); by her ten grandchildren: Mairead, Andrew, Brendan, Matthew, Brian, Sister Clara Marie, ASCJ, Elyse, Cate, Jack, Sean and her great grandchild: Lucille.
Being born in the Great Depression made Agnes unfailingly resilient and strong. At one year of age, her parents brought her and her two siblings (Mary and Pat) to California. They taught her the value of hard work and perseverance while raising her in San Francisco's Richmond District. She was the beneficiary of 12 years of Catholic education, graduating from Star of the Sea Academy in 1954. She had straight A's, perfect flowing penmanship, and a wide group of friends she remained close to for seven decades. One of her greatest joys was writing and receiving handwritten letters.
Agnes and Larry raised four children in the Bay Area and Reno. In 1985, with her children grown, she began selling real estate. In a few short years she opened her own office, Unique Realty. She loved buying and selling homes. In 2004, she and Larry moved to Fair Oaks to be close to family, especially her grandchildren. Agnes' grandchildren knew her as Nana. She loved cooking for them, sewing pajamas and costumes, and going to their events. They loved her very much and she will always be remembered for her kindness and tenderness to them.
The family would like to thank her gracious caregivers at the end of her life, Dorin, A.J. and Ingrid, at Pearl Care Assisted Living, as well as the caring staff from Ally Independence who provided many years of service.
The family is planning a private Funeral Mass in San Francisco.
