Rosemary Jean Munoz Obituary
Rosemary Jean Munoz, affectionately known as Jean, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, surrounded by her children, at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 30, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jenny Elwood and "Chuck" McMackin, Jean was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her 77 years of life.

Jean grew up in a bustling household with her siblings Loretta, Sandy, Carol Ann, Bubby, and the late Johnny McMackin. Despite the loss of her parents and brother, she carried an unwavering spirit that was a testament to her strength and character. She was married two times which ended in divorce.

As a devoted mother, Jean's greatest pride were her children: Rose Yeager of Topeka, Brenda (Webb) Thomas of Eskridge, Renee Araiza of Valley Falls, Gloria (Gary) Seematter of Admire, Gilbert Zabala Jr. of Topeka, and Phillip J.A. Munoz of Topeka. They, along with her 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Jean's professional life was characterized by dedication and hard work. She spent many years as a book binder at Econoclad, where her meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic were greatly valued. Later, she devoted herself to linen and housekeeping roles, where she continued to show her reliability and care.

Her passions outside of work were simple yet deeply fulfilling. Jean loved spending time with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. She found joy in the thrill of going to the casinos and revelled in the beauty of nature, especially the hummingbirds that frequently visited her at home. These interests were reflections of her loving nature and her appreciation for life's small pleasures.

Described as loving, kind, and courageous by all who knew her, Jean's presence was a comfort and a source of joy. She approached life's challenges with grace and a positive outlook that inspired those around her. Her resilience in the face of adversity was a lesson in courage, and her warmth and generosity knew no bounds.

Jean's legacy is one of love and perseverance. She showed us how to face each day with a smile and to find happiness in the company of loved ones. Her memory will be cherished andkept alive through the stories and laughter shared among those who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we say goodbye to Jean, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so much to so many. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us as we hold her close in our hearts forever.

Jean's life will be honored in a Celebration of Life, at a later date Her journey on this earth has ended, but the love she shared will continue to ripple through the lives of those she touched. Jean's story is one of a life well-lived, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
