Mrs. Ada I. Crow, 79, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. F. Long, 1434 Tyler Street, Topeka.
Born in Erie County, Pennsylvania March 12, 1856, she came to Kansas in March, 1879, and settled at Dover. Two years later she moved with her husband, Marion W. Crow, to the West Union neighborhood, where they lived until 15 years ago. They lived in Rossville until August 20, 1934, when she moved to Topeka to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Long, following the death of her husband.
She united with the Methodist church when a girl and was a consistent worker in the church all her life. She was a member of the Rossville M. E. church at the time of her death.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Long, Topeka; three sons, L. B. Crow, Rossville; C. W. Crow, Silver Lake; and M. L. Crow, Willard; a sister, Mrs. E. O. Bigelow, Waterford, PA.; a brother, B. W. Baird, Manhattan; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the West Union church, conducted by Rev. Wright Horton. Pallbearers were Harry Billings, Joe Stevens, Clarence Grant, John Stevens, Bert Miller and John Rogers. Music was furnished by a quartette of ladies from Rossville composed of Mrs. E. G. Griswold, Mrs. Arthur Wallerstedt, Mrs. D.E. Gresser and Mrs. Horton.
Burial was in the Valencia cemetery.
