Charles G. Crupper, Sr.
Charles G. Crupper, Sr., 75, Rossville, died Monday, August 26, 1996, at his home.
He was born October 14,1920, in Nowata, OK., the son of Willis P. and Elizabeth Parker Crupper.
He grew up in Oklahoma, then moved to Dearing, KS. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was an ex-prisoner of war. He worked for the Gas Service Company in Topeka for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He was a mem¬ber of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion at Rossville.
He was married to Virginia Kovar on March 4, 1950 at Bentonville, AK. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles G. Crupper, Jr., Papillion, NE.; four brothers, Arthur Crup¬per, Howard; Roy Crupper, Port¬land, OR; Joseph Crupper, Alexander, VA; Edward Crupper, Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Romona B. Wierima, Yacolt, WA; one grandson, and one grand¬daughter.
He will lie in state on Tuesday (today) from 2 to 8 p.m. at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where there will be a fam¬ily visitation from 7 to 8 p.m.
His service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery, Charlie Company 1st Engineers, Ft. Riley will conduct the military graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Community Library or to the donor’s choice and sent in care of the funeral home.
