BARBARA A. DUDNEY
Barbara A. Dudney, Rossville, 74, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
She was born June 2, 1937, at Simpson, Kan., the daughter of James Roy and Melba Marguerite Huffman Gentry. Barbara lived in Simpson until she was in the fifth grade before moving to Rossville. She graduated from Rossville High School in 1955.
Mrs. Dudney had been a secre¬tary for the Kansas Legislature for many years and had been Senator Anthony Hensley’s secretary since she started working for the state. She earlier had worked for the Topeka Chamber of Commerce. Barbara was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church and also was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 Auxiliary of the American Legion.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bobby Gentry and a sister Betty Dick.
On Aug. 17, 1958, she was united in marriage to Bryce “Pete” Dudney at Rossville. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her chil¬dren, Robyn Dudney, Silver Lake, Brenda Powell, Temple, Texas, and Mark Dudney, Silver Lake; a brother, Billy (Beverly) Gentry, Rossville; her granddaughter, Alayna Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, at the Rossville United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
