Obituary- Darting, Maude 1
M. Lenora Darting
Maude Lenora Darting, 77, Rossville, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at her home in Rossville. She had cancer.
She was born October 4, 1922, in Soldier, the daughter of Raymond and Griffie “Adams” Andrick.
Mrs. Darting was reared in Emmett and graduated from Soldier High School. She retired from McCall Pattern Company in Manhattan in 1984. Quilting became a hobby she shared with all her children, grandchildren, many friends and relatives. She made the Rossville United Methodist Church quilt for nearly 15 years.
On June3, 1943, she married Alex Darting in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Ken Darting, Silver Lake, Den Darting, Baldwin, and Steve Darting, Topeka; three sisters, Wauneta Darting, Emmett, Dorothy Redmon, Topeka, and Genevieve Jacobson, Rossville; one brother, John Andrick, Maple Hill; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean, in 1957.
The family received friends Friday evening at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Her service was at 9 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home chapel.
