Obituary- Darting, Maude 2
Maude Darting
ROSSVILLE — Maude Lenora Darting, 77, Rossville, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, at her home. She had cancer.
Mrs. Darting retired from the McCall Pattern Co. in Manhattan in 1984.
She was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Soldier, the daughter of Raymond and Griffie “Adams” Andrick. She was raised in Emmett and graduated from Soldier High School.
Mrs. Darting was an avid quilter and made the annual guilt for Rossville Methodist Church for nearly 15 years.
She married Alex Darting on June 3, 1943, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Ken Darting, Silver Lake, Den Darting, Baldwin City, and Steve Darting, Topeka; three sisters, Wuaneta [sic Wauneta] Darting, Emmett, Dorothy Redmon, Topeka, and Genevieve Jacobson, Rossville; a brother, John Andrick, Maple Hill; and seven grandchildren.
A daughter, Donna Jean, died in 1957.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Darting will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 7 p.m.
