Obituary- Easdale, Scott 1
Scott Easdale Pneumonia Victim
Scott Easdale died Monday afternoon at shortly past 4 o’clock after being bedfast only a day or so, although he had been feeling ill for days before taking to his bed. He was suffering from pneumonia and death was hastened by a weak heart.
Mr. Easdale had been a resident here about thirty-five years. He was a good Christian man, well thought of by the many friends he had made in his long residence here, a kind husband and neigh¬bor. In his early life he joined the Christian church and remained under that faith until his death.
Winfield Scott Easdale was born April 13, 1850, at Wheeling, West Va., coming to Rossville in the early eighties. On Feb. 19, 1906, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Ella Startup. At the time of his death on January 8, he was 60 years, 8 months and 25 day old.
His surviving relatives are his widow, three step children, Netta, May and Cecil Startup; a half sister, Mrs. Gussie Godwallader, of Lincoln, Neb. ; three half broth¬ers, Ellsworth Easdale, of Ottawa Kan., Nathan M. Easdale, Phillips, Neb and Wm. B. Easdale, of Rossville.
The funeral sermon was deliv¬ered by Rev. Frank H. Bentley in the Christian church, yesterday at 2:30 p.m., and interment made in the Rossville cemetery.
