Mrs. Dorothy J. Davis

WILLARD -- Mrs. Dorothy J. Davis, 62, Willard, died Sunday, June 17, 1990, at a Rossville nursing home.

She was born Aug. 5, 1927, north of Rossville, the daughter of Emial and Carrie Cerny Kovar.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the Presbyterian Church and ZCBJ Lodge No. 128 and a charter member of Jimmie Lillard Unit No. 31 of the American Legion auxiliary, all in Rossville.

She was married to Stanley A. Davis Jan. 31, 1947, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Sage, Topeka, and Beverly Martinek, Branson, Mo.; her father Emial Kovar, Rossville; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Davis will lie in state after 4 p.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today. She later will lie in state an hour before services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
